The Arabian Wildlife Centre is the only ‘zoo’ in Arabia which shows all the animals naturally occurring in the Arabian Peninsula, both current and inexistent. Opened in September 1999, this outstanding ability houses over 100 types displayed in safe, large and natural environments. The centre proves the variety of the fauna found in the point and creates awareness of the species, which have, and are, becoming non-existent. The Arabia’s Wildlife Centre is located at Sharjah’s Desert Park, about 25 km east of the city of Sharjah, on the highway E88 to Al Dhaid.


Not just does the Wildlife Centre house the world’s biggest congregation of Arabian wild life yet it is similarly the main zoological park in the Middle East to be totally inside. Making it perfect for a day out, paying little attention to the climate. Whereas for the tourist it is a complete indoor practice, there are numerous areas where the animals live in their natural atmosphere, and can be experiential through large glass walls.


The displays are separated up into various units, each devoted to a group of species, including the reptile, fish and insect houses, where many of the Arabian snakes, lizards and chameleons, as well as insects such as camel spiders and scorpions can be seen.

In the outdoor areas, baboons, Oryx antelopes, wolves, hyenas, cheetahs and Arabian leopards can be seen in their ordinary atmosphere.
